Employment – Harassment – Manning Agency A woman employed by a manning agency was placed to work with a clothing company. The woman complained to the management of the company as well as to the manning agency, of being subjected to sexual orientation harassment by fellow employees of the manning agency also doing work for the company. The manning agency undertook some limited measures to investigate the complaint but the company did not follow up on this nor did it undertake any investigation of its own. As a consequence the woman made a complaint to the Ombudsman under the Sexual Orientation Discrimination (Employment) Act. The Ombudsman reached an out-of-court settlement with the company including the payment of 50 000 SEK (approx. 5 500 Euros, or 7 000 US dollars) to the woman. The Ombudsman then closed the file.
